Getting Astrakhan as a vassal is a big brain move. Get their cores back asap and integrate them, as they spawn with vision on all of asia and you get that vision when you integrate them.

As a Russian, your pronunciation of "Cheringov", "Below Zero" and "Pyskov" cracked me up :D
Thanks for the guide! I usually play really slowly and this gave me a lot of new ideas.

It’s not hard to remove that bad noble privilege near the beginning of the game, if you don’t give them any more privileges yet, you can summon the diet and if you get a super easy mission for nobles and complete it you can immediately remove the privilege with higher loyalty then influence. Course this all depends on rng with what mission you get, and if don’t complete it fast enough you might not be able to seize crownlands at the very start (since it decreases loyalty) before starting your day one wars.

Another alternative and more consistent way to remove it early is to just sell titles at the start and you automatically get that loyalty to immediately remove the privilege, course the downside to that would be not being able to add in one of the mana privileges so you have to sacrifice one at the start, though as Muscovy if you don’t provide to many privileges at the start you can rapidly get that crown land back from just taking provinces with the estates influences are low.

Hey man, great video! Just one little thing. A province not having your religion decreases produced good by a lot, so you don't get as much gold. And the higher the dev the longer and harder it is to convert. So you should first convert zlatousk and then Dev it

During the civil war, it can be worth it checking the stats of your pretenders. I got a 665 on the throne that way. Really nice that the tool tip with their stats are reliable nowadays.

There are SO MANY subjects you can play w/ as Muscovy/Russia:

-In the east, there's also Sibir and Kazakh, which you can release from Uzbek
-One or two of the western hordes (crimea, Nogai, Great horde, Nogai) will get cannibalized by the others, so you could vassalize and reconquer for them
-Those 4 lithuanian vassals
-Finland
-Vassals in the Balkans that were conquered by the Ottomans
-The guys you start with of course
-Riga is always a good vassal
-Teutons often get conquered, that's another good vassal

So honestly, opening up w/ influence ideas wouldn't be bad. You'll probably also want admin somewhere along the way, so that meshes really well w/ influence (they have a -15% diplo annex cost policy together)

This is a great guide! Makes me want to start a game as Muscovy and see where it takes me :)

Awesome guide but it has a critical flaw. At the start, you didn't rival countries in the exact same order they rivaled you, the game is already ruined at that point.

U almost never wanna open up with trade ideas, its not an early idea group as u can't use all of the 3 merchants effectively early on

This is hilarious just finished a russia campaign and you drop this. Ah well I’d like to see how your start differs to mine. Stacking cc modifiers for Russia is so fun.

I started a Muscovy run this morning, and had some bad RNG. Novgorod allied Sweden, and the Hoards all got into a full hug-box, and proceeded to never fight any wars because they had no enemies. I tried to outpace them, but I wasn't able to get the edge by 1610ish, so I'll just be restarting this one.

Why you don't use the clericy privilege on +0.5 patriarch authority? It gives you a really nice boost to getting the orthodox icons right at the start

id always recommend vassalizing riga to maximize their abilities in trade and gain a strong foothold in the baltic trade node

Manpower is an issue early on as Muscovy. So Quantity is still not a bad idea.
