I truly wish so many scenes developing Yueh's character weren't cut. I feel like this betrayal came out of nowhere for people who hadn't read the book. It was a very interesting detail that the way Yueh's Suk conditioning was broken wasn't due to his love for his wife, but for his hatred of the Baron. He betrayed the Atreides family because he *wanted* to kill the Baron. I think that also adds so much to the Baron as a villain as well.

The Baron sounds like a nice man who would honour trade agreements.

Yueh saved Jessica and Paul, freed his wife, almost killed Baron. Such a badass character should have more screen time

The whispering, and the spooky Hans Zimmer background music, this moment is so fucking cool!
Fischstix
"They take her apart like a doll" that sounds so messed up
preparetoholdyourcolour
Yueh a few minutes later: "This has been the worst trade deal, in the history of trade deals, maybe ever"
romilrh
"They take her apart like a doll!"
And put her together like a spider.🕷🤣

It was a flaw in Herbert's book, that Yueh didn't understand that his wife was already dead. He should have known. Harkonnens don't reward treachery even against an adversary.

I love this movie i can't wait for part 2

I never understood how Dr Yueh turned against Leto. He was certified by the imperium. How was he able to break the conditioning?
ikFaVm
His wife was already dead in the books. This was a revenge killing
coletrain
Even he doesnt betray them, baron will still attack with full force and of course sardaukar is still strongest forces of the houses only rivaled by fremens
mitodrudito
not only was the doctor atreides he was also a-traitor

Why wouldn't the Dr., just tell the Duke they took/have his wife and lead the Baron into a trap? Seems like that would be the much better option here. Never have understood this plot detail.
beyerch
Just like the Sith, the Harkonnens deal in absolutes
ozymandias
a smart doctor made a bargain with the baron? lol

I’m sorry to say but dr yueh’s betrayal is complete weak sauce . Yes his wife was captured but he was in service to one of if not the most powerful house in the imperium (heck that’s why all this drama started in the first place, with house atreides growing in popularity/power ) he could’ve easily had trusted Leto with tasking with getting his wife back, instead he helped spark a larger conflict 🤦🏾♂️
calmorgan
So this guy single handedly deactivate all of the shields and attacked the Duke lol like how the fuck he gets his training
Random_Guy_on_Youutube
I wonder if Herbert realized that in a peerage barons are four steps lower in authority than a duke. The harkonnen would suck up to Leto his entire life.
Avenus
They should have had Yueh say "They threaten to take her apart like a doll." What do you think?
