I live in the "hood" in GR. You don't see boarded up houses and empty lots. I think we had one meth fire in the past 5 years here. It's not perfect but it's not nearly as ghetto compared to Chicago, Detroit, Gary etc. We have the nicest hoods. I owe it to our strong Christian faith and roots here.

I really enjoyed living in Grand Rapids. Lovely place. Friendly people. Always lots going on in the arena.

There’s Fat Man’s Fish Fry!!! My grandfather used to take me there as a kid. Best fried fish ever. You started out on North Division ave. that’s not the Hispanic section. That part of Wyoming is pretty run down. I wonder if all the prostitutes are still on South Division after you cross 28th street.

my hometown 😎 just got taken off the top 20 to live in the United States list. was nice seeing you rate it so high though. crime or none its the best city in Michigan to live in unless you want more rural then we just move north 40 to 60 miles so we can still use it lol.
big rapids has really grown since you made this video. was crazy busy up this way for the memorial holiday wknd as always. lots of rec boats n camping. pure Michigan

Those first few minutes I've watched so far reminds me of Dequindre street between 8 and 10 mile north of Detroit.

St. Louis would be cool, it's a great European-style city with great parks. The zoo is free.

It's hard for me to wrap my head around why y'all skipped out on Ann Arbor 😏 I was looking forward to seeing some vids from there. Great place to live, very much recognized nationally as a great city to live in. According to Niche website Ann Arbor ranked 6th best city to live in for 21'. Every year it's among the best, think even once before took the #1 spot but I could be mistaken.

The actual city of Grand Rapids has grown little by population because it is virtually surrounded by suburbs or townships amd has nowhere to grow. But the metropolitan population has had quite a positive growth pattern over the last few decades. Bys several hundred thousand thousand, actually!

I grew up in GR and there are a lot of beautiful areas. It's sad that you chose the areas off "Division" to judge GR. Those areas are poverty stricken have been that way for some time with primarily AA and MA people making up the population. Change takes time and the city is turning around. Do yourself a favor and if you want to experience the finer side of GR, stay to the areas east of Plymouth Street. East GR is gorgeous as well!!

Grand Rapids looks nice 🌳❤ almost Identical to Detroit but it has it's own style Detroit is bigger.
