I never would have thought to knock them out. These games are very inconsistent on what counts as a kill when going unarmed. I also checked back to see if I had to knock out everyone before turning the last valve, which of course you don't have to do.

If you knife the guy at the door you can get the others to crowd him. I got five with the barrels doing that. Got the achievement too.
