WOW! My mum had an African Violet sitting on a shelf next to a radio in the laundry. My dad always had the radio on every morning and that African Violet bloomed all year. Mum was never really a plant person and only watered the plant when she remembered but it flourished. So this is a bit of a revelation and possibly the reason it was so healthy and happy. 🤗

I wonder if the light by that stereo was better for her African Violets then the other places in her house.

Thank you for the tips! Most of my AV's are store bought, and I find that they are just exhausted and depleted by the time I get them home. It is very important to fertilize these plants because they need the nutrients. Also, they often tend to be waterlogged because they are watered heavily in the stores, so they need to be dried out very well right after purchase.

I am fairly new to this, and I am definitely learning as I go along. Lighting, as you said, is also very important. However, sometimes finding just the right degree of lighting can be tricky. I've moved them all over my house to experiment with different exposures, but it seems to me that the ones I have in the windows do a little better than those that are under the grow lights.
