Recording Notes:

- Drums were extracted from the original track. Every other instrument and vocal was recorded as shown.

- I EQed and filtered the "Lennon" vocal part to achieve a similar sound to the original home-made demo used to create the song.

- The lead guitar on this song was originally recorded on a 12-string guitar. I layered two takes of my Casino to achieve a similar result since I don't own a 12-string guitar.

- For the slide part during the intro I tuned the high E string 1 step down. I'm pretty sure this is the way it was recorded.

- The original song was recorded with a 5-string bass (WAL MK2). You can notice the low "C" hiting during the solo section. I slightly changed the bass line here so it can be played on my 4-string Jazz Bass

Wow Nick! 😍 I've been a Beatles fan since I was a kid and I love your loving recreation of this. I've done a few Beatles covers on my channel too but I don't think I could get this close in terms of accuracy to the original. You even manage to sound like John Lennon, which is not an easy thing. And the Ringo drums sound is spot on. Well done!
