"How High the Moon" was written by Nancy Hamilton and Morgan Lewis for the 1940 Broadway revue "Two for the Show". This killer upbeat version with scat singing by Sarah Vaughan is from her 1955 studio album "In the Land of Hi-Fi". Sarah Vaughan was not called 'The Divine One' for nothing. Her most obvious gift was always her powerful voice. Her vocal range stretched from true female baritone lows to mezzo soprano highs. As she aged, her voice deepened. The dynamic range, tonal quality and sheer beauty of her voice were near operatic. Enjoy! Thanks For Your Comments.
