The freighter event spawns every 3 hours but there's a few conditions to be aware of.
1: The 3 hours also needs you to have jumped 5 times. Both conditions need to be met! If youve played for 6 hours but only jumped twice, simply jump three more times and it will spawn on the output of jump 5, or if youve jumped a dozen times in the last 2 hours, you need to play for another hour to get it to show up on your next jump.
2: The in game clock does NOT count time while loading or paused. This means you can't just tab out of the game, and jumping more than necessary will just waste your time.

Hey here’s a way to get a cheap one when trying to buy first: play 3 hours u need to be moving not afk and second warp 5 times by the 5th warp you should encounter one needing help, before you warp make sure to get on a space station jump out ur ship to save then get back on and warp once u do there will be one needing help, save it and the commander will invite you to his ship go in and ask to inspect the freighter if u don’t like the class or how it looks reload the save now uk that’s pacific system u went to has that color and freighter look so go to a dif one until u find the desired freighter once u do but it’s a C class reload save as many times as needed to get a B A or S class but ofc S class can take up to 24 h max to 3 hours min of re loading the game😵‍💫just to get it

You can keep reloading your save to get unlimited chances at your desired freighter. I got my massive capital s class freighter in 18 attempts

DREDNAUGHTS blow the 4 motors then wait underneath wait till 50% Freighter full then blow up the 6 cannons if freighter is destroyed first then you get an upgrade S item for the Dreadnaught you captured their are 6 different S- items to 18 upgrades

Also dont accept the first freighter you see because if you accept a c class freighter for free your free freighter token is now used and you have to pay full price for another freighter

I got all my freighters for free...
Including S class DREADNAUGHT...
And no it wasn't my first freighters either...😂😂😂

honestly i wish we could have them do one of three things, stay in a system, orbit a planet, and land on a planet and deploy ground vehicles.

If you reload your save and jump again to initiate the event you basically reroll the freighter design and class, so you can infinitely do this until you get the one you want.

If your on a outlaw mission delivering goods there's one where you defend it. It may just be a glitch for me but majority of illegal stuff I do they just throw a freighter at me

From my knowledge the class of the freighter doesn't really matter much. Just find one you like the look of and there ya go.

I've got like 16 hours in the game on one save and the best I've found is a C classes. Still no freighter and no storage left.
