Is Jeremy Corbyn's Brexit stance costing him support?

Well some Labour activists are growing increasingly dissatisfied with their leader's refusal to endorse a second referendum - as polls show that party members are significantly opposed to Brexit and pro second referendum.

At the moment - the party's official policy keeps all options on the table if there isn't a general election. Inigo Gilmore has been talking to Labour activists.

Labour lies about everything it is going to do. Talk is cheap and only young people have the inexperience of Labour to believe their every word. I'm 75 and have lived through many Labour parties in number 10 and not one of them have made this country better and the poor have suffered miserably because of them. These young people need to stop listening to the lies and start looking at the history. As for Tory austerity, we were told it would hurt and be tough before they got in, and that we would have to tighten our belts to put right the mess Labour left our economy. Now we are hurting, people are still moaning and groaning about it. Buckle up and get out of the EU. This country needs the money that the EU are wasting on a daily basis.

This is utterly unbelievable. I'm amazed (though I probably shouldn't be) that this game playing is still going on.

This is the collective failure of government and parliament for playing roulette with the future of the UK. They asked an inadequate binary question on a complex issue, failed to prepare for any of the potential fallout and didn't even require a supermajority for what is clearly one of the biggest suggested changes in recent UK history.

It's time for parliament to admit they promised something that can never be delivered, rescind article 50, begin a comprehensive inquiry into what voters needs and concerns are and find a way to deliver it realistically and effectively without continuing this Brexit charade.

If MPs lose their jobs over this that's the price they will have to pay to take some responsibility and do the right thing for the UK. Simply trying to placate people based on what's popular isn't going to get us out of this mess.

If you support the E.U. You’re giving up your own Vote/Voice. Why does giving up sovereignty appeal to so many people?

I voted for him before, but never again. He doesn’t seem to have a position on anything other than whatever he thinks might get him into No 10. That’s the only thing he cares about. Couldn’t care less about what’s good for the country or the people. He did this over Trident, then again over Brexit and yet again over the current Brexit position. Enough is enough. He’s no better than Boris Johnson.

As a labour voter I could not give my vote to labour if they do not respect the referendum result and support Britain leaving the European Union. I think labour would lose a lot of votes and support in the north of the country if they do not respect the choice made by labour voters who voted to leave.

The labour members want this, the labour voters don't.

Sick of watching clips of Corbyn escaping through side doors to avoid journalists. If he thinks he is up to the job of prime minister he is going to need to man up about debating policy and defending his vision rather than just whining about the results of other peoples policies.

The inability of parliament to function is a product of EU membership. A membership which no-body voted for and a membership which is unsustainable. So say 52% of the electorate. But parliament is dysfunctional so cannot deliver on the majorities mandate, a product of membership of the EU, a membership that nobody voted for. Parliaments dysfunction caused there to be a 52% majority in favour of leaving the EU. But Parliament is dysfunctional and cannot deliver the demands of 52% of the electorate because EU Membership, which nobody voted for, produces a dysfunctional parliament. Clearly this is unsustainable. Clearly 52% of the electorate are on the money. Clearly we must leave the EU to induce functionality in parliament. But, Parliamentary dysfunctionality due to EU membership, which nobody voted for cannot deliver that which was voted for by 52% of the catch 22 apparently, is sustainable. My ballot paper just ripped it's self up. The electoral roll is cheese and onion and a product of more than one country.

Call me a racist but most of them protesters sounded foreign anyway...So do they really care about this country or just what's best for themselves?

Hang on, in brexit Britain we need a eurosceptic PM.

It would be interesting to see the statistics on how many momentum/labour members are actually eligible to vote in a UK general election

I think Corbyn would do well to heed the sage advice of Arthur Morgan: "Just do one thing or another; don't try and be two people at once." There is no way he is going to win over enough people from both the pro and anti Brexit camps if he keeps sitting on the fence and trying to compromise to appease both sides; he's just going to end up alienating both of them. Either back remain and a second referendum or take that off the table and fully commit to Brexit. He should be showing some vision and leading on this to fill the vacuum of power in parliament, instead of just being a protest politician who moans about the government's approach to Brexit without offering a set in stone alternative. It is always: "We will do a better Brexit deal which respects the result" but Corbyn fails to really explain how in any detail, instead preferring to "keep all options on the table". Well, we're pretty much out of time now and don't have the luxury of 50 different nuanced options. We only got asked 'Leave or Remain', and it's time Corbyn was forced to make the same binary choice.

'Is Jeremy Corbyn's Brexit stance costing him support?' No the fact that he is an anti-Semitic Marxist is or at least should be. People keep making excuses for his behaviour
