Hi folks. I went the path Kevin shows and got the speed editor with the included 'Studio' version licence. Up to then I was using the free version. It really is very good and powerful software. Plenty of online guidance about how to use it. Several other Blackmagic offerings come with the Studio licence should you need that. Frequent free upgrades as well for both free and paid for versions. Highly recommended.

Nice! I actually started learning Resolve last year when I was in between jobs but then stopped once I started my current role and things got hectic. This may be the encouragement I needed to get back at it. I have a system with a RTX 3080 so I have more than enough grunt to power it too.

their business model is GENIUS. i'm just getting into video editing now and i'm scared to pay so much for apps like adobe pro when i've never had experience with vid editing. this allows me to test the waters before i actually buy the product which i plan to once i get the hang of things cause i think it's an amazing software from all that i'm seeing. thanks for this video!

Hi @KevinStratvert, I have a Q. So im a beginner. The available downloadable version is 18.5, but the one in the "full tutorial for beginners" is Resolve 18 Beta.
18.5 seems to have a different interface/layout. So which of these 18.0, 18.0.1, 18.0.4, 18.1.2, 18.1.4, 18.5 is Resolve 18 Beta?

Interesting, in order to download the free version, you need to register which I not want to do. But the Studio Version doesn't need to register. I don't know if it run when installing, but it is the typical BS.

There is no option for Beta version nor is there any version options at all. The download for version 18.6.2 immediately starts.
