THE Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) is pushing the affirmative procurement agenda, a drive that is promoting women empowerment to lay a strong foundation for the growth of female-run businesses in the country.
Affirmative procurement refers to intentional and proactive efforts by governments or organisations to create opportunities for historically marginalised or underrepresented groups in procurement processes.
Zimbabwe continues to make positive strides towards gender equality with the procurement sector not being left behind.
In a recent interview at a community engagement in Brunapeg, Matabeleland South, PRAZ Corporate Communications manager, Mr Mqhele Tshuma said women empowerment was gathering momentum with affirmative procurement.
