“It Just Felt Like a Cold” #wait

Показать описание
An illness can begin with symptoms that resemble a common cold—such as a runny nose, mild cough, sore throat, and slight fever—making it easy to dismiss as something minor. These early symptoms are often nonspecific and can overlap with many viral infections, leading to the assumption that rest and hydration will be sufficient for recovery. However, as time progresses, the condition can evolve and reveal more distinctive symptoms that indicate a more serious underlying issue.

For example, if the initial sore throat intensifies and swallowing becomes increasingly painful, this could suggest the development of tonsillitis, especially if white patches appear on the tonsils. In another scenario, if the mild cough worsens, producing thick mucus and accompanied by sharp chest pain and difficulty breathing, it may signal the onset of pneumonia. Unlike a common cold, which typically improves within a week or so, these conditions persist and escalate, requiring medical attention and more intensive treatment to prevent complications. The progression from common cold-like symptoms to a more serious illness underscores the importance of monitoring and reassessing symptoms over time.

I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Glad she's seeing the positives in life.

Awww Jesus 😢😢 God Bless this woman! I am dealing with all kinds of autoimmune diseases and been complaining while she had this problem. Lord forgive me and humble me. I am proud of this woman’s husband for sticking around as well.

Sepsis from MRSA nearly killed me. Please don’t ignore the warning signs. I went from feeling run down with a cough and walking, talking to delirious in an ambulance within an hour. A month in hospital and I have permanent brain damage. Stay safe, everyone, please. ♥️

Sherri Moody was one of my teachers my senior year of high school. She's one of the sweetest and strongest women I've ever met. I've heard she's still doing very well despite what happened. ❤

Sepsis from a Tampon - toxic shock syndrome - landed me in the ICU for 5 days trying to stabilize my blood pressure. Miraculously, I not only kept my life, but I kept all my limbs. I'm grateful every day.

This story reminds me to be thankful, every day, for everything we have. Our limbs, our breath, a functioning heart...the things we take for granted. Bless you Sherri, I wish you joy and happiness 🌹

Had strep once. Went to the doctor because omg the pain in my throat. They gave me antibiotics and that was that. Had no idea it could be so bad. So sorry for this woman.

Happened to me. Cold symptoms on May 19th. Soar throat a few days later...Progressively worsened over a few days...transported to ER 5/24. B/P was 70!!! Was in Septic Shock due to Strept Throat. ICU for 5 days. Kidney failure. Started dialysis 3x's week. Transported to Kaiser per insurance. 10 blood tranfusions due to bleeding stress ulcer in small intestine... after 20 days was well enough to go to rehab to learn how to walk again. Walked out 6/26/24 by God's
Grace!!! Hallelujah!!!

The vasopressor meds help to increase BP redirect bloodflow and "press" into vital organs. Thankfully no gangrene and amputations for me. I did watch Sherry's story and was incredibly humbled. Her positive attitude is essential to recovery and rehab. 💛💛💛💛

I had strep last winter, felt absolutely miserable. Finally got tested 3 days in after thinking it was a normal cold. The doctor who saw me said "You don't look that bad, " condescendingly, before running any tests. They did rapid tests, confirmed it was strep, and not one word of apology or empathy. Just "here's a script for antibiotics, the pharmacies are all closed though." Sometimes I wonder why some people go into medicine. Strep is terribly hard on the body.

Normally one would hope to be like this lady and stay positive in the face of such a dreadful thing... but I just know I would deal with it really, really badly. She is really extraordinary.
