Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is hosting leaders from all 54 African states at a summit in New Delhi.

The meeting is an ambitious attempt to strike up a new partnership with Africa, one that the Indian government says will be based on 'mutual benefit'.

But India has a long way to catch up to China.

Nobody is trying to dominate anyone. It's just Indians understand African market and business. Because Africa, India, China all come from similar circumstances. It's about sharing of knowledge and growing together. It's a relationship that dates back to 1700s.

there is no competition between India and china..China is at different field India is at different field..Africa is too big so space for two countries..Chinese have money but India didn't have enough capital like China have but India can be partner and very trustfull

GDP per capita in Africa: 28, 000 US dollars

India's per capita GDP: 26, 000 US dollars

India's per capita is lower than Africa's. Is India developing its own country well before helping Africa?

India has traditionally traded with Eastern Africa throughout history, so it would not be a new development. India however does not have nearly the economic might or investment portfolio as China has. India can certainly grow its trade and investment in Africa, but it wont come close to China in this century.

I do agree with Noon that Indians should focus on their own thing at the moment, at least before they can pull most of their population out of poverty and can provide basic healthy facility to their residents .

Africa is large enough for China, India, USA, UK, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, EU,
However, China is the first country treat Africa as friend. China come to build infrastructure, to invest, to transfer technology. The environment is good enough now, it attracts other countries' interest and invest in Africa. Africa has no reason to resist the investment of other countries. However, I think Africa can judge who true friend is.

India doesn't has money to investment Africa even they don't have toilet more than 50% indian people use outside as toilets, and africa 20% doesn't has toilet and some countries of Africa better than india like south Africa, Botswana, angola, Egypt, morroco, algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Lesotho so that who is need to investment india or africa ?

China and lndia are two totally different nations.While China is united by a single official language, Mandarin, India still has not been able to do just that.India should instead focus on the English for the masses. Only then can India even think of competing with China.Democracy in India is a bane actually. There needs to be greater accountability from the part of the state governments in India.Great incentives must be given for voluntary sterilization.China is Not Indias enemy. lndias enemy is India itself.CHANGE, INDIA.Excessive racism in India is not helping.Educate your Hindi speaking northeners to respect southeners.STOP this MADRASI thing.On the bright side, PM Modi is the best thing that happened to Bharat after Ashoka.He will do immense good for India.
