Iran has reportedly modified a made-in-Russia trainer jet into a combat aircraft. According to The Eurasian Times report, Iran converted Russia's Y-130 trainer jet into a fighter aircraft. The Y-130 is also armed with a Sovet-origin R-73 air-to-air missile. Iran has unveiled a total of four new deadly weapons, including a new military aircraft, a game changer drone, and a drone carrier, in just one week. Watch this video to know more.

These are great developments, but my main concern is that none of these are true fifth generation fighter jets. Nonetheless, they're a vast improvement to Iran's existing stockpile of F-14s and MIGs.

These 6 planes are not going to be used for combat, they are trainer aircraft! They probably added weapons so they can do live fire training at striking ground targets.
to be combat ready they would need a full replacement avionics package...
