Fun fact: I always skip promotion bits in videos, but Laura made me watch Nord VPN part from the very beginning to the very end thanks to her incredible performing talent. Shame, I use another VPN service.

I watch your videos so I can copy the accent. I am an American. I am pretty sure I just sound like an American trying to fake an English accent. There are a LOT of differences in word pronunciation between American and UK English, like "figure", and "eventually." Add to that the fact that I am from the Southeastern United States and my main exposure to the English accent was Mary Poppins, and I have a lot of work to do. Your videos are wonderful.

Thank you so much 💙!
THIS IS INSANELY DIFFICULT, the rhythm and intonations are so different, compare to RP English.
As usual, your video is always helpful. By the way, I'm so scared, and nervous for my IELTS exams. Speaking test which is on 6th June, your videos, tips and everything you've uploaded so far, have been most helpful. I just blabber, and talk to myself infront of mirror; I have no one to practice with. I hope it goes well, especially when I am clearly struggling due to my ADHD, and neurodivergent brain. That being said, can you make a quick video on how to remember, what you read? 😭 It's so scary! It's hard to maintain composure whenever I'm reading, and I have to re-read that whole para sometimes! ❤️
Do you have some tricks, to master scanning and skimming throughout the texts? :)

Hi, All right. We have to emphasize each sentence correctly. But we add emotions to do that. A sad and happy sentence are different. What about the same emphasis?

As a native french speaker, this is actually, and in my opinion, one of the most difficult things to acquire when learning how to speak english and sound more "natural"... French is much more monotonous, unless you are under a heavy stress or very emotional, the way we pronounce things has much less ambitus (range between high and low tones) than english speakers do...
Maybe the reason why I feel more comfy talking to american people than specific people from england whose accent is nowhere close to understandable to me (cockneys, wales, black country, glasgow ouch... etc... heh i'm not even mentioning scottish or some irish peeps) I always find that many american speakers pronunce things with a lot less intonation than english people, making it IMHO easier to understand for a native french speaker, used to little intonations.. i'd be curious to know what's your opinion about that ?
At least my feeling about this, and I'm just talking about AFAIC. :)
