I'm not against seasonal characters but what the developers don't seem to understand is why players play The Division 2. And above all, why some have hundreds or even thousands of hours on the game. It's because The Division is The Division. Personally, I don't necessarily want the game to be different and unique and refreshing. Ultimately, I would just like new equipment and new areas to explore.

As a veteran day 1 player, I’m gonna disagree with implementing seasonal characters. We’ve all spent countless hours grinding for what we have. If you want to freshen up the seasons then give us a seasonal “artifact” like in Destiny 2. Offer rotating modifiers that make the lackluster gear sets and unused weapons more viable and more fun to use. It’s not a hard concept.

my problem with how the seasonal characters seem to work based on what they have said is that I do not want to carry on the story with a new character each season. it appears that we have created our character and played the story up to this point and they will then get benched in favour of a new character each season. Along with that all the gear we have in stash and builds will be useless as the new character will need to grind the gear from lvl 1.

I also think the most important thing is that veterans will want to continue to progress their main character. If it's possible with seasons 2.0, everything will be OK. But if it's forced with a new character, it's going to hurt.

Here, their idea of a seasonal character is for the entire season. You literally put your main character aside and play this new character. Like everything there are levels, and maybe starting at the top is not the best way. No man’s sky does like six of these monthly events per year. Similar to this. Start a new character run through a five or 10 hour mission of something very very specific. You start with nothing and you have a goal you finish it and you’re rewarded with usually some really nice armor a new ship may be a new power and it takes 10 to 20 hours and there is your seasonal activity. Send everything to your main character and you move on. You’re not stuck with playing an under powered character having to retrieve the same items every season and start from scratch actually that’s starting to sound amazingly horrible. Anyway, no man’s sky does it right 10 hours six times a year start a brand new character it’s just an extra adventure, but you know what it’s a lot of fun, and because they make it rewarding like you get the special exotic, it’s definitely worth doing then you can go back to your main.

So reading between the lines I get "We have made so many gearsets with so many talents and added so many ways for you to grind over the years such as Expertise, we have convoluted the leveling system so horribly that now there are balancing issues and the only way for us to fix it is make you start over."
Well it doesn't matter if I'm over powered in my Single player game, it doesn't affect anyone in MY game.

Second thing I hear is " We are more interested in the new player than the veteran player and want to do everything we can to dumb down the veteran so the noob can catch up.
This isn't my problem, a new player can do everything I can do in in HIS/HER single player game, the only place they would have issues is in the PVP spaces and no amount of dumbing down the veteran is going to fix that because they have the experience and know the maps inside out, STOP CATERING TO THE NEW PLAYER!!!

Lastly, there are ways to challenge the veteran player, the Recruiter threw us ALL for a loop when he disabled the SHD network, it's already in game, USE THAT!
They can also use severe weather, bright lights or darkness to hinder the visibility of the player so long ranged weapons would be useless and CQC would have to be used or use barricades where long ranged weapons would have to be used, all this is in game already, I beg them to just use their imaginations.

Oh and BTW with all the hub bub about Seasonal Character I'll bet a lot of people didn't realize the White House got cleaned up a bit, the flipped over tables in the hallways are gone, THANK GOD as I was getting tired of getting hung up on them and a lot of the bodies are gone, oddly replaced with shields, they must not have the programing knowledge to remove objects, only replace them, even so it's a welcomed change and it would be nice seeing a little more done each update.

You can say what you want about Ubi, and while they DO deserver most of it, you gotta give them props for still keeping Div 2 going this long, not charging for everything, and rolling WoNY into the base game.

If they did like this in all their games, I don't think they would be so hated.

I hope they take the feedback and provide changes regarding seasons 2.0
The game still has potential for a return of Resistance or Survival mode, in fact Brooklyn could be built for such a mode, people would love it
It would also be nice to see a second incursion with a faction like outcasts or rikers

I love this game, honestly I'd be devastated if they stopped the production, so I'm happy with whatever they update

And my biggest fear is that the developers will change the game so much that it loses all its flavor. Just think of Destiny, WoW, Battlefield, etc. And that some players like me lose interest.

Personally, they need to fix the problems from the update.

As a veteran player, I am looking forward to Seasons 2.0. I mean, what am I doing now - the same thing every day? Farming with the same build, running Descent for the 1, 000th time, using my best build in the DZ and conflict...blowing through Lincoln with my eyes closed and muscle memory. I will be happy to play Division 2 in a new way. Besides, how is it really different with a new character? We shoot things, collect resources, make builds, rinse, repeat...and do it again and again. Seasons 2.0 might alleviate some of the monotony. By the way, did you hear Yannick say that the DLC would hit later this year?

If I had a dime for every time someone on the internet said “this game is dead, ” I’d be a rich man. Now we’re talking year 7. It’s kind of surreal. Seasonal characters aside, I love the ideas that Ubisoft Bucharest has brought to the game since they took over and I’m really curious to see what an entire DLC experience created by this team will be.

I know that they’re probably still finalizing some things, but I just really wish they would have issued a communique along with the announcement. I still think that’s a massive, pun intended, blunder.

All that said, I’m all for bringing more players into the game, and I love the One Endgame piece. Doesn’t affect me since I finished everything and moved past SHD 1000 ages ago. But I love interacting with and helping new players enjoy the game as much as I have. I think there’s a lot of other folks like that in the community too.

Ok so everyone will have to start over and be on a level playing field with a brand new player. So the thousands of hours I have spent grinding getting materials and building my character up to be maxed out will just be tossed out the window and made meaningless. This is a kick in the D*CK to everyone that has done the grind to get to where we are. If this is the case, I will never buy another season pass and probably quit playing.

Kind of like the glitch in the crafting bench So it finally works like it should have all along. I as a craftsman in real life, machinist, blacksmith, gunsmith and fabricator, when I build something I build it to 100%, unlike game designers who half ass everything and then try to fix it as they go along. So not only do I have to grind and grind to get all the materials to craft it and on a super lucky day maybe get 75-80% Then I have to go out and grind for even more stuff to then make it 100%.

This ranks right up there with some of the game dynamic logic, you can be 100% fireproof unless you get set on fire by a flamethrower, EMP's affecting a ballistic shield, the unlimited sniper accurate nuclear powered that follow your movement and curve in the air airburst grenades that black tusk use while we get a grenade launcher that most of the time doesn't even knock their armor off if you hit them with all 6 rounds. The rigged against you league events that once you reach a certain level gets to be almost impossible and useless. The last NPC you kill has the golden bullet, The guardian is hiding in the back and you have to try and run through the invincible NPC's to get to the guardian. They start off great but after you get some many stars it just keeps getting worse.

Once again they don't care about their player base or know anything about their player base just like telling everyone that the mosquito is the most used gun and Aegis the most used gear set. So we all know they won't take our feelings into account so until the player base just stops playing and quit buying season passes they will keep on doing whatever they want to do. Once it gets be just another outdated $1.99 steam game they might start listening. I would love to be wrong, I really would but with their past history I won't be. Now I am waiting to make my final decision I am still playing the game and going to see what comes out of it and not make a decision until it is actually here or they give us more information. I paid for this season pass and I will finish this season regardless.

Agents are burning out man
We need something solid, not taking away progression for artificial difficulty variety

I have been playing since day one of the division 2 and have put many hours, and real cash into the game. What 'veteran' players of the game need to understand is: without new blood (players) the game will slowly fizzle out. Everybody is always asking for big changes, now that we will have one in 2.0 (seasonal characters) people are complaining. I don't think it has anything to do with progressing your old characters, I think it is because some people, who have become too comfortable with their characters might find starting again a bigger challenge than they think.

Doesn't change anything for me. If my main character can't progress the story on their end I am done. Nobody puts Baby in the Corner

They need to tease some bug fixes more than new seasons. They are legit killing their own game. They’re the real rogue agents 😅
