There were still 8 artists credited on the opening, so I guess it depends on whether they just used AI as a tool or if it replaced another artist.

I'm not buying their thematic justification, it sounds like a convenient excuse they came up with to justify cutting costs. They can use that PR template for anything really... "We made the Fast XX intro sequence with AI to show how a sports car would express family through art"

It depends how the tech actually functions. I’ve seen AI engines that (supposedly) only pull from image libraries made up of paid artists who explicitly signed off on their art being used in the engine. But if it’s one of the others that indiscriminately pulls from art all over the web, regardless of consent? Yeah fuck that.

I think it totally okay thematically. They didn't use AI because it's cheap or that they didn't want to hire artists, they did it intentionally to fit the "secret" theme aspect of the show. I think AI and art is just having a tough conversation at the moment, if this was done 10 years ago, everyone would be praising them.

Like I needed any other reasons not to watch/support Marvel movies. Awful move by them and the intro looks like garbage too
