I have just read all 4 books. You must read all 4 books in sequence in order to appreciate the story properly.
I was literally captured by the whole thing ! The story, the city contest, the social and political phases of italian history. This deep and dramatic friendship. In italian language her style is superb. I hope that it's not diminished by translation. Thanks

I'm italian and I wanted to read more italian autors : Elena Ferrante was THE best choice. Yes, her writing is as beautiful in italian, so fluid and captivating. A light read during exams !
I'm reading the third book in the series and it's going strong.

I'm Italian and I had been living abroad for a few years when my mum lent me this very book. And wow, it was the first time in years I read a novel in my own language and it made me fall in love with it so deeply, it was a truly unique experience. These books are so captivating, the way she writes is stunning. Her descriptions might not be conventional but every detail is so vivid it's like being there with the characters. My favourite book series in a long time, if not my favourite period.

I love talking about books with other people, so I am more likely to choose award-winning books just because I know that there will be lots of people who have read them and want to discuss them! Though actually even if I don't end up discussing the book much, reading popular/award-winning novels still makes me feel like I'm participating in something, in a way that reading lesser known books doesn't.

Hey, I recently read a book called "We Were Liars" by E Lockhart. It's an amazing book with a super plot twist. I would really recommend you read it, and maybe even make a video on it because you'll more than likely be hooked. It's a young adult novel, because I am indeed a young adult, but the style of writing is so brilliant and unusual I think you will adore it. Love your videos as always x

That excerpt you read was so lovely :) I see literary awards as a sort of extra little point of interest when buying a book, like if there's a quote from an author I like on the cover, or a really intriguing quote from inside. But I don't think I'd ever really buy a book with a premise that didn't interest me just because it won an award.
