#1 all time favorite activity: cuttting lawn on zero turn. #2 favorite activity: weed whacking. Can't beat it!! I didn't know what I was missing til I left the city and moved to TN. I'm glad you enjoy the weed whacking too Kaye.

I watched the pros cleaning out very overgrown yards on YouTube and thought I can do that. Great tool for us older ladies. I have an electric weed trimmer. Love your videos.

One of your best videos, Kaye. Loved it. I don't have a weed eater but it's on my list now. I've been wanting one for a while.

I use my push mower (a self propelled one) then weed wack with interchangeable batteries for my dewalt weed eater. I keep at least one battery on the charger at all times. I gave away my gas powered blower, and gas powered weed eater. I had trouble getting them started - let alone the heavy weight of them. Had to buy all battery operated things now that my hubby isn’t able to do much. Maybe one day you can trade someone the four wheeler for a riding mower. I remember my dad at nearly 80 years old riding around his horse farm in Kentucky on a mower. For me, bending over isn’t so bad, it’s the standing back up that’s hard! My back and hips are shot! I’m wishing for a hot tub someday! 😆 You did good, girlfriend! You earned every bite of that steak dinner!

Funny (at least to me) story about Ryobi:
Ryobi had a booth outside a Home Depot with a Ryder truck parked next to it. In passing, I told the fellow at the booth, "Oh, I like Ryobi products" pronouncing it like you did in this video.

He was quick to 'correct' my pronunciation, saying, "It's pronounced Reeeobi."

I asked him, glancing at his Ryder truck saying, "Oh, who knew? and "I suppose now, you're going to tell me the company, which rented you It's truck is pronounced Reeeder?"

He was not amused.

Oh, and hair spray does a pretty good job of fending off bugs like skeeters, ticks and chiggers.

I'm currently reading Steve Solomon's book " The Intelligent Gardener". Steve says, " I hope those aspiring to buy a country homestead keep this unpleasant history in mind. If you are living on or about to buy a piece of rural land located east of the 98th meridian, and if the land was once a farm that is still clear of forest regrowth, most likely that land has been thoroughly mined out. If the land you're considering has youngish trees that you plan to clear to make room for a house and garden, keep in mind that if it once was a farm field, it already has been thoroughly exhausted. A mere few decades in a second-growth forest will not restore the nutrient reserve that land once carried in it's surface humus. A few hundred years might. A few thousand definitely will".

Remember my telling you to get a tiny Honda generator to pull around in your little wagon? If you did that, batteries running out of charge would be a thing of the past. You could use a CORDED weed whacker or any other similar tool all day long.

Also, there's a trick that let's you wind new string without taking the head all apart.

Your place is awesome! Lots of work but so worth it. Too bad you are alone in this endeavor. I myself am researching living arrangements- like communes in years past - like minded people living nearby and working towards the common good. Maybe I’m a dreamer, but that sounds really good to me. We all have different strengths- so would compliment each other. You are brave and strong, and doing a great job!

Bye, red boots! I love weed wacking, but my shoulder has been sore for 3 days from it! Lol. You’re doing a great job!
