Love the leyland 6, got one in my garage, 6 cylinders are super rare as the v8 was heaps better. Would love to get my hands on that one in the yard!

wish I could save some of these. the little Vivas were a good car, Mum & Da had one for years, used the same motor as the HB Torana. very reliable and economical. and your'e right, that was a Vauxhall Cresta, a good car in their day and went quite well with their 6 cylinder motor. there are rumours that the heads from them will fit a Holden grey motor, and make them go a lot harder. not sure how true that is. 🤔

I know where this is, I used to live in the Barossa Valley for 10 years and I always stared at this place and wondered as I drove past!

I notice a lot of the Escorts were marked as sold to the same person. I'll lay good money that they will be stripped right down and cut up for solid panels and body parts and shipped back to the UK or Europe. You're right, they have become extremely popular and expensive over hear, especially with the classic rally people but they did rust horribly over here so good genuine panels are highly prized, there are some good reproduction panels but they tend to be expensive and constantly on back order so solid and fairly rust-free parts from junked Australian and South African cars make good money. That four door Mk2 you looked at could easily make £2-3, 000 in reclaimed panels. You're right about the values, a Mk1 Twin Cam or Mk2 RS1800 in good original or very well restored condition could easily do £80, 000-£100, 000 or more at auction, and a well built historic rally car could turn £150, 000. Something like a genuine works AVO rally car could see £500, 000+ depending on its history though they never get to auction, selling privately within the network of those who know so it could well be that value is decidedly on the cheap side...

I saw some photographs of an Australian scrapyard - there were quite a lot of Borgwards, Goliaths, DKWs and Panhards...anybody out there, who could help me to find it ? Thank you so much !
