What do you mean a husband and wife can be charged with the same crime? It sounds like if I were to speed down a highway and through everything out my window, and evaide the police it sounds like my wife would also be charged with the same crime, even though she is at home most likely getting dinner or taking care of the children. Doesn't make any lick of sense

You can blame the media for reporting this one falsely, I'm from the UK, and this happened when I was in Secondary School, and this was being reported on here as a old lady suing McDonalds for slightly hot coffee, which was spun as Americans ridiculous Suing culture.
It had a positive impact though, as the cups used for serving hot drinks changed and were insulated so they were easier to hold.
