Our railway is home to several types of reptiles including snakes and lizards, and amphibians like newts. 🦎 🐍

Protecting them is an important part of our work to create a more sustainable, safer and reliable railway for all:

First time I've ever seen a snake yawn (4:13). Super capture.

Saw my first ever snakes (Adders) living wild in Scotland about 4 weeks ago, while maintaining the signalling equipment around Beattock on the West Coast Main Line. Grabbed a quick photo (from a safe distance) for Control and left the little guys to it.

Makes a change from the usual rabbits and badgers.

Many replies on the railway, falling my 22 years of service. One or two people out to get you. fact . Have left the industry, following all the years of service with just one week off sick .
