i usually perfer to hold off my summer vacation until late summer, so then there wouldnt be as many people.
the last summer when i went on a vacation, my flight was held up because of the heavy rain and gusting, and it was kind of annoying but i held back my emotions, cuz i was with my kids.

plus : the second meaning of hold off is new to me ! i couldnt say thank you enough !
