I was always a devout windows 7 user eventually updating to windows 10 Pro which I’m still currently using with no desire to upgrade to windows 11

I'm amazed Brian didn't specify that his sponsor CDKeySales sells keys for this exact version of Windows. I thought he would considering there is a Windows 10 LTSC for 21H2 (which is only one feature update behind) and CDKeySales don't sell keys for that version (yet). You might have mentioned this and I missed it, but just so you know Windows LTSC upgrades are not free and you have to buy a new key for each upgrade. Windows LTSC to me is basically Windows the old way. Such as no Microsoft Edge (only Internet Explorer) unless you install it manually, no Microsoft Store, 10 years updates like before Windows 10 (excluding LTSC 2021 non-IoT which is 5 years), new LTSC every 3 years (like before Windows 10). I actually use Windows 10 LTSB 2016 on one of my PCs which is supported until October 2026.

Great video as always Brian!

I installed Windows 10 LTSC 2019 for my kids: office for school and steam for gaming. I think you are spot-on; this is the best version. Complemented with W10Privacy and you have a solid system.

My main driver is Linux (Kubuntu), but I installed Windows 10 LTSC 2019 as a VM (KVM / virt-manager) if I need it... (about 2 - 4 times a month).

Windows 10 Iot LTSC 2021 as baseline. Hyper-V enabled. Other versions in a virtual machine as desired. Works a treat including my newly installed 10Gb Ethernet. Windows 11 VM included.

Thank you for doing your thoughts on Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC installation. I hope you cover more on this OS in future video releases. I really like this version though mine doesn't appear to be a stripped version. Perhaps there's something different about the 2019 release as opposed to my 2015 release? Not sure. I didn't have the driver not installing problem you had. All went smooth for me on the installation part. Thanks again, Brian.

No, it's not. The best version to use is Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 as it's extended support date will last until January, 2032.

At my work we have multiple winXP machines, though they are all controlling machinery and there are no software updates for the machines for newer versions of windows. Not going to throw out an expensive laser cutting machine or X-ray that still works as well as it did 15 years ago just because there is no controller software for it under Win10. Also have 1 machine running Win NT 4 controlling a solder flow oven.

Sorry to ask this, but I am a bit of luddite when it comes to windows would really appreciate if you could help me a bit.

1. where to get the ltsc file? Because paying of them is quite expensive if I am not wrong.

2. And also where to get the kms38?

3. Is it possible to install windows 10 ltsc on a laptop which comes pretty installed with windows 11? I bought a new laptop which has windows 11 installed.

4. What about my bios and other drivers for my network card etc. Do I have to download them from manufacturers website? And install them one by one?

5. Also I have to use Rufus to boot and install windows 10 ltsc in it?

6. What is the uefi thing ? How do I know which to select?

Great video. My favourite operating systems were Windows XP and Windows 7. Sadly have been forced to upgrade.

Happily I do use Windows 10 at work, and have been very pleasantly surprised by the latest upgrades to Windows 11 (the original version was awful, but the latest version is so much better). Also I found it was possible to install it on my older, non-hardware compliant PC (with a few official Microsoft work-arounds) and it runs really well.

Often there is so much to criticise with Microsoft, especially Windows 8, but in my experience, some were very praiseworthy like Windows 3.1, NT, XP, 7, 10 were the best, and Windows 11 is rapidly improving.

Hope Microsoft can remove the hardware compatibility checks for Windows 11, because it does run absolutely fine on old PCs...😊

Been using LTSC since the end of W7 and very happy with it, rhe most stable Windows OS I have ever used. Telemetry disabled and updates done when I choose to do them.

Very intriguing! One of my computers is on Windows 10 because of a certain editing software I use (and I don't want to update it, at least not on that computer).

Thanks for the information. It is unbelievable how much windows has expanded/bloated over the years. I remember the days of stripping down WIN XP services to lighten the load. Since then, I have totally lost my confidence to strip away unnecessary services because there is just so many things running in the system.

Where did you get the windows key? I did not know about this os. How much did the key cost you @Britec09?

Ya know Brian It would have nice if you would have mentioned to your large audience that you need a special windows license to run this.
I tried installing it and quickly found out the Windows home license that came with the PC I purchased was not going to be good enough. That I needed to purchase a second license.
Youve been truly amazing since Iv subscribed to you a while back, I appreciate it.
However, I'm not very happy right now.
