If I've promised I'll get around to writing it, I will. No need to remind me every few billion years.

That’s really where the past advanced civilization thrived 😂

It’s no mystery, the answer is well guarded.

I was counting along with the clock on the TV and had trouble keeping up if I said Mississippi between every number. It was how I was taught to keep time. I think time is moving faster than it did 20 years ago

It's thought that the great unconformity happened during Snowball Earth. That's actually one of the pieces of evidence for Snowball Earth 8km (5mi) of rock would have to be worn down for a billion years to 'disapper'.

Nope. It was scoured into dust by glaciers during the Neoproterozoic era.

For fun let’s just say life actually thrives on mars and we had to leave it and come to the hospitable neighboring planet on a space ark. On that ark were fundamental species to restart.

Decided to google it, and the video is very misleading in multiple ways...

'Unconformities' apply to any observed gap in layers of sedimentary rock, where 1 layer has an exceptionally different geological age to it's neighboring layer. 'The great unconformity' has been used to refer to very extreme examples of this.

The most extreme is Powell's observation with a gap of 175 million years in the grand canyon. The missing sedimentary rock is due to an observable geological process where 2 large sections of rock are being pushed together. This process causes some of the rock to be hidden within the mountain. The gap can vary in from 175 million years at one part of the canyon, and other parts of the canyon being up to 1.6 billion years. However, the missing rock can be found deeper in the mountain, and can certainly be found in other places on earth!

So this is a well understood phenomenon, and not mysterious in any way, like the video tries to tease

Lots of tectonic plate movements maybe. All that geological record took a dive into the magma. Can I claim my Nobel Prize please Thoughty?
