A person who loves truth will also love repentance. There is mercy and deliverance for a person who will go to God and confess what He already knows. Confessing our sins is a humbling experience, and we can't cover our sins and think we will prosper, or continue to walk in the light with God...
Proverbs 28:13 He that COVERETH his transgressions SHALL NOT PROSPER;
But whoso CONFESSETH and FORSAKETH them SHALL OBTAIN MERCY.
To fear the Lord is to depart from evil. We must learn to fear Him and not man or be ashamed of what they might think of us. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
James 5:16 CONFESS YOUR SINS THEREFOR ONE TO ANOTHER and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.
Many times we don't understand why we are not prospering or maturing in the Lord, not realizing that we may be covering our sins, regarding iniquity in our hearts, and unwilling to put those idols down.
When God manifests a problem in your life or brings it to your attention, He is doing it so that you can be cleansed from it, not to put us to shame.
