Choose Your Starter by Only Knowing Their Pokedex Entries

We used a randomizer to randomize our Starter Choices in Scarlet & Violet, then revealed the options by reading their PokéDex entires! Once we both have a full team, we fight!

The dex entires for some of my favorite Pokemon:

protects itself by flaring up the flames on its back. The flames are vigorous if the Pokémon is angry. However, if it is tired, the flames sputter fitfully with incomplete combustion. (ORAS entry)

whips up a sandstorm by flapping its wings. The wings create a series of notes that sound like singing. Because the “singing” is the only thing that can be heard in a sandstorm, this Pokémon is said to be the desert spirit. (ORAS entry)

evolved as a result of exposure to the moon's waves. It hides silently in darkness and waits for its foes to make a move. The rings on its body glow when it leaps to attack. (ORAS entry, you why are the ORAS entries the best ones?)

And two of my more recent faves,

As it scatters toxic sweat and emits electricity, a melody that sounds like it came from a guitar reverberates through the surrounding area. (Scarlet entry)

(and an obvious one), This intelligent Pokémon has a very daring disposition. It knocks rocks into the sky with its hammer, aiming for flying Corviknight. (Scarlet entry)

This is just idea, ignore it if you can't or didn't find it cool but i was thinking about new ways of choosing pokemons for battle and there are few ideas ( if some of them can't be done im sry )

- Choosing by opening random cards ( u play with mons u will get on card )
-Nature edition: Based on nature card u will get, u have 2 min ( or whatever time will be best ) to catch 6 mons with specific nature on that card
-Choose pokemon based on random generate colors ( main color + one detales color )
-Fishing until u make full team then fight ( might be randomized pokes in water )
-Match your pokes based on random item from irl you will draw then battle

...i can make more but im not sure if this is even interesting for anyone so like this if you want to see some more ideas or u like this one

My favorite has 3 forms but the one that it technically the best lives in schools in artic waters leaves its birthplace through rivers but around a certain time it returns to its birthplace
