I love the ability to use a full size 2280 ssd, and the plethora of ethernet and hdmi ports could give it some interesting capabilities for networking and AV uses. I was thinking of pulling the trigger on 5, but now I might wait for a 5 plus.

Great review :) Board seemed powerful, has the hardware, but can’t play 4k videos off YouTube without dropping ton of frame. Am I doing something wrong? Running on orange pi arch linux?

32b vs 64b os. Arm32 has stm/ldm with 6 options allowing for any of the 15 registers to be used as a stack or heap. They are ascending, descending, full, empty and/or update base register. What this does for stacking, structures and tracing is not found in any other architecture. The 64b version DOES NOT have this. The best they can do is stp which does only 2 registers. As long as you can live with a 4g per thread, this is plenty. It's nice to have 64b with 32 registers for larger files, but not with the loss of these commands. Remember the mmu can window any of the 32g into the 4g address space per cpu/thread. Let's keep 32b support in our os.❤️💕🥰😇, jpk

Sorry, ram buffered ssd only gives 7gbps on pcie4. Rp5+ and rkp5 only have pcie3. My mistake.💕, jpk

I guess nobody has a video on using the Orange Pi5 GPIO PWM pins to run some pan/tilt servo motors? Loading OSs are not much help for DIY Python servo projects. Thanks.

rkpi5 hangs if left to sleep and only power up restarts...no power button start.opi5's blinking light forces it to do something and it wakes up well. Rkpi5 needs blinky(?).🤒✌️🥰, jpk
