Why Madhavilatha is chosen for it? Select a new name, no Hyderabad, no Bhagnagar, no Bhagyanagar. It can be called, the city of Rocks and Boulders, like Kondarallapalli. It was never Bhagyanagar, it was Bhagnagar, meaning the city of gardens, named after Bhagmati, the keep of Quli Qutub Shah. Since it was distasteful to call it by the name of the Concubine Bhagmati, it was converted to Bhagyanagar by the Andhra-based writers who thought that it was the city of their destiny (Bhagya) after they left Madras. Now BJP wants to change its name officially to Bhagyanagar to make it their city of destiny, haha what a similarity, that is why they fielded the Andhra Brahmin Madhavi Latha.
