This movie was underappreciated at the time. The CGI was cool, the action scenes too, plus it was awesome how they merged so much lore and creatures and it still made sense. 10 out of 10 stars for me.

Even though Dracula is the villain, I found it interesting that he says, “We never kill more than our fill and less than our share.” Which means he respects the natural order, up until Marishka was killed. Pretty cool!

Gabriel’s werewolf form is one of if not my favorite werewolf form from any movie

I noticed on a rewatch that the grey werewolf's blood was green because the people who were shooting at it did not have silver bullets. But when Anna shot at it, it was red because she was using silver bullets and told the others that it had to be silver.

Van Helsing is the reason I have an interest in Vampires and Werewolves. It's such a good movie, I wish more movies would go the route of combining multiple mythologies and supernatural concepts. I think that's why Van Helsing seems like it has a well fleshed out and unique world, which is what I like the most about the movie.

It's amazing to see how 2004 CGI can hold up this well

This movie has aged like a fine wine and the pacing of this movie is the best ever… it never stops yet never gets tiring it’s just adrenaline filled lore and suspense and action masterpiece.

This is the most rewatchable movie of all time and i love it. Also one of the best depictions of werewolves and vampires. I wish there would have been a second

This was one of those few movies where I genuinely wondered why it never got a sequel, it not only looked good but it also had a pretty decent story with potential for a sequel. It could’ve been the very first monster verse.

If there was ever a film that I wanted to be expanded into it's own show, it's this one. I loved the settings, the music, the monsters, designs. Pretty much everything, and the lore was so interesting.

You made a mistake. The villagers weren't raiding the castle because they were sick of Dracula, most of em probably didn't even know he existed. They were raiding the castle because they were sick of Dr Frankenstein's grave robbing.

On a side note, I liked how they held true to the theme of Frankenstein when characterizing Frankenstein's monster: man is the real monster.

This movie so needed a sequel, because Hugh Jackman crushed this role, and you’re totally right about the missed opportunity to flush out Gabriel’s backstory.

Also, your little side comments are hilarious throughout! “I like how this gun is normal size, but it has like 1000 ft of rope.” 😂😂

Keep up the good work man!

Fun fact: the actor that portrayed Carl was also Faramir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy

I also loved Van Helsing. I watched it when I was around 7 years old. I love how they combined different mythologies and fictions in a way that makes sense. It also has the best werewolf design I've seen in a movie.
I was surprised to see online that critics didn't like it and it didn't do so well in the box office. But despite that, this will forever be one of my favourites supernatural film.

Honestly, this movie had it all, amazingly well-aged CGI, the dopest werewolf designs of all time, an incredible soundtrack, deep and interesting characters and script, a great showing about how a great strong female character is done, and many things more. Sadly, it was a commercial failure, which denied us the opportunity of a great Monster Universe. Amazing job mate!

“I miss movies like this” took the words out of my mouth

I've always wondered if Dracula and his brides have to "mate" in their more demonic form to create their little gargoyle offspring or if they can just "mate" in normal form 🤔

I loved this film when it first came out. Was unhappy that it didn't make much money and got panned by the critics.Hoping it will become a cult classic.

I always liked this movie as a kid. Knowing a bigger backstory makes me wanna watch it again for the first time in 10 years.
