Lets cherish the joy of reading together without any pressure. Our focus should be on embracing the cozy space created within the words, where we can connect deeply and engage in heartfelt and genuine conversation. Congrats on 2k subs! Here's to building a community bound by love, care and kindness<3

I just came across your channel and you are amazing and articulate yourself very well. Keep the videos going!! I will be a long-term subscriber and can't wait to watch more :)

You raise a good point about the pressure of feeling you have read to more. Don't ... continue to read for your own pleasure. And I'm sure numerous booktubers would concur with this opinion.

I found your channel a few weeks ago and have enjoyed all your content! I also love your music channel Solituede Within, my favorite video being When Kingdoms Fall!!

You are doing everything right and nothing wrong. These other channels are fast food content while your channel is a curated 5-course meal, meant to be savored and appreciated by those who truly value it. Your preparation really shows and you will attract your people that value your content.

I subscribed because I loved how you presented your videos. Only after watching your videos did I find out how alike we were and how much we had in common, from metal music to being a cat person, from how we like to decorate our homes to our passion for writing. You inspire me and you lead the life I aspire to. Because of you, Belgium has now made it onto my list of places to visit and experience.

Your passion and authenticity resonate deeply with those of us who crave meaningful content. Keep doing what you’re doing! ❤

I am so happy for you. I know how lonely it can feel to not have anyone with whom to discuss books; I don't have any bookish friends. I had one, but even then she read the complete opposite of what I like to read.
I'm happy to have found your channel because you read what I like to read and I get that satisfaction of hearing someone's thoughts on a book I read, or I get to add to my TBR because I know I like the kinds of books you like.

I'm so happy to have found your channel. The aesthetic is absolutely stunning and aspirational. Your content is thoughtful and insightful for a classics beginner, and I'm very appreciative of it.

It's vastly more important that you are producing content that matters to YOU!
When a YouTuber becomes stressed with the burden of pleasing the widest audience, that seems to lead to burnout. Focus more on creating content that you yourself would enjoy watching, and those who share your interests will be drawn to you. 😊
You make wonderful content, that's unlike anyone else, so just keep it up!

Booktube is so cool. I am a Brazilian living in Japan, and I love to read and watch videos in English, and this is where I get that. I subscribed to your channel recently and I’ve been loving your videos. They are cozy and informative at the same time. ❤
I do have a question: what is your first language?
I absolutely love your video style. ❤❤❤

Don't worry for reading more or reading for viewers, the sole purpose should be to engage with the writer and converse with the book while gaining positivity all around you. Happy 2k subscribers! <3

😭❤ so so happy for you! Congratulations on 2K, and thank you so much for sharing your creativity and your bookish heart on this space!

I’m so interested to hear your ideas for rating books, because I’ve also been feeling that way as well, and have found myself phasing out that verbiage in my videos.

As to the pressure to read more, I hear you. I feel the same way as a viewer. Before Booktube, it never occurred to me to worry about how many books I would read in a year. Who would care? I had been keeping a list in recent years, but that's only because it's getting harder for me to remember what I have read and even what I own. I don't want to re-buy a book that I already read but donated/sold a while back. (Which has happened.)

The pressure for Booktubers is so much greater. Many Booktubers have mentioned it. I hope it doesn't get you down. I have even told people, I would miss your channel if you closed down. But I'd rather have you reading and happy, than making videos and miserable. Or worse, to have people come to hate reading because of all the pressure. Don't let anything destroy your love for reading!

I've found a few good YT channels this week, finally, after searching and searching. Yours, Squirrelly Nerdy Jess and Tristan and the Classics. I haven't any bookish friends to discuss reading with either, and my friends all live overseas, my best friend lives in the South Island (I'm in NZ, as we discussed last night 🙂) and he's not into the books I read. It's very lonely at times, but I love my own company, and my lovely books!
I really like the decor of your library, it looks beautiful and you also seem to be very well put-together (unlike me lol XD) and it's so nice to chat, even here on YT, with other real book-lovers! I've been reading my whole life (I'm now 51) and have also been reading Classics since I was a child.
Funny, I don't use a 5-star rating system, either, I just use my feelings to judge a book, how it impacted me etc. I must start to journal notes as I read, as I'm about to tackle some chonkers in 2024-2025, like War and Peace, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Silmarillion (which I know I'll struggle with!)
Anyway, sorry for the mini-essay, I tend to go off on a tangent when talking about books and video games (I love stories in both these formats!)
It's okay to be emotional, I'm a sentimental softie so BIG HUG to you and congratulations for 2, 000 subs 🙂

I hear you so much, here; I find myself feeling much the same, the doubts and wandering wonderings. Your explanation of the negatives felt especially poignant and true. I'm not sure if you feel this, but I find my thoughts lingering at length on each video—ones released and ones yet to come—my day-to-day enveloped by anticipation and the doubts therein. This can feel exhausting. When it's your thoughts you can't escape it becomes about escaping yourself, and that's a hard feeling to contend with. If you feel the same, I hope you're coping well.

This is a refreshing video. It genuinely spoke to me, and I hope you feel proud of it.

Just found your channel recently and it is an absolute gem. Am trying reading more than 1 book at a time and finding that I am reading more this way. Be patient. The followers will increase. Thanks for all your hard work.

I don't know if its appropriate to say here, but somehow your voice calms me down and makes me go grab a book and read the hell out
