Al Ain Zoo

Показать описание
Founded in 1968 by the late Sheikh Zayed, the Father of our nation, Al Ain Zoo is a true family destination, providing entertainment and learning experiences in a natural outdoor environment. Today, visitors of all ages discover the zoo's wildlife and enjoy a great day out packed with fun and adventure, and explore our large animal collection of over 4000 animals.
Al Ain's remarkable zoo is the region's largest and most acclaimed. The spacious enclosures are inhabited by indigenous and exotic species such as the Arabian Oryx, the big-horned Barbary sheep, rhinos, hippos, tigers and lions and more. The well-respected conservation and breeding program protects and preserves the rare fauna from extinction. Highlights of a zoo visit include giraffe feedings, a fascinating walk-through lemur experience and the world's largest human-made safari, a 217-hectare landscape housing more than 250 African and Arabian animals.
Other offerings at the zoo include the Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre, a sustainably built multimedia exhibition that features five interactive galleries: Sheikh Zayed Tribute Hall, Abu Dhabi's Desert over Time, Abu Dhabi's Living World, People of the Desert and Looking to the Future; a variety of cafes and restaurants and a Children Discovery Garden, among others, with renovations/expansion on-going at time of writing.
Al Ain Zoo’s main focus is conserving arid wildlife, managing it, and preserving it by integrating the three foundations of the Zoo:
Enhance efforts to preserve the environment by protecting its resources, applying the latest programs and strategies to sustain resources, protecting endangered animals and plants, and increasing their numbers to save them from extinction.
Provide tours, services, and comprehensive entertainment facilities to create a unique experience for our visitors. All our facilities are equipped to provide you with a great enjoyable experience.
Raise awareness on the importance of preserving our environmental culture and sustaining it as well as support educational institutions to ultimately enhance the environmental cultural experience. We allow our student visitors to enjoy learning about environmental lifestyles in their most realistic form.
