Victoria 3 1.2 update is here! That's right, before any Victoria 3 DLC, we have a fresh new update for Victoria 3 that changes EVERYTHING. These are some really solid changes to the game, including changes to Victoria 3 war. Victoria 3 mods can also be updated as there was an open beta. So, let's see if these changes to Victoria 3 actually help or hinder the future of the game!

6:40 Just FYI, the map fade-time is configurable in the options. So you can make it instantly change to a new lens instead of fading between them.

Maybe the reason you’re construction was so slow is turmoil now has a construction sector efficiency debuff up to 75% and you had like 1/3 of your pop radical at the point you discovered the slowdown

The thing I like about private construction is that it's based on profit, so while you're busy trying to get that ammo factory so you can invade whichever helpless nation you've set your eyes on, the capitalists can make line go up. (Especially when that line is going up because they built a wheat farm that you've been neglecting to do anything about.)

in the new update, GDP is counted like it is in real life. instead of sugar being counted when its produced and then when its used in a grocery factory, it only gets counted when its a finally product, which is why youre GDP is so much smaller.

I do hope Private Construction will pick up some of the weird slack in AI Empires. Like maybe Spain will build out it's coal for once...

Hey Laith, smashing video as always, and here's a tip for you: If you want to get Laissez-Faire and/or Free Trade easily, you should do the Corn Laws journal entry- basically, set up an export route for grain and set the trade policy to "Exports Prioritised". This will result in some events strenghtening the land owners, and then one of the events changes the Landowner leader to be a Market Liberal, who supports all the liberal economic laws. After enforcing Free Trade, the corn laws will end via event and even give you some nice buffs!

I love the new way that the private construction works. It feels so nice having my pops take care of the things that they want for me, letting me deal more with the high level stuff.

Was good seeing you go into this one blind, one suggestion for the devs that would be easy to implement is to fix the constant separatism when playing as central america, one of the most fun nations from Vic2 is currently unplayable

The construction was probably slowed down by turmoil. it uses the full construction capacity, but then is reduced by it, so it ends up slowing it down.
Newly conquered states are usually impossible to build in because of that, and it takes some time, depending on your laws for the construction to reach normal speed levels

Because this was such a massive and conspicuous patch, I think not reading the changelog was the way to go here. It makes you more surprised and impressed whenever you do see a change to a feature.
