For people with not so long and narrow fingers you can play fat e string open on the G#m instead of wrapping the thumb around if that causes you to mute other strings unintentionally. The note already has the high E open so it doesn't sound like the album but it sounds good....especially if you like that harmonic style of open chords and tunings.
