Thank you for explaining how the double coat insulates them from cold AND the heat! many people have the misconception that these dogs will legitimately DIE during warmer seasons and it's annoying being a husky owner and having people tell me this crap all the time

I once took my dog to a salon to be cleaned and immediately left upon hearing the words “and how short would you like the shave?” Ma’am absolutely not. You’re not touching my dog. She’s clearly a husky. I will protect that coat like it’s my own skin.

I ALMOST made this mistake with my Pomeranian / American Eskimo mix. Thank goodness I looked into it more, and never ended up doing it. He does get booty fur trims for hygiene though 😄

My Akita/Lab/mountain goat rescues are definitely double coated sisters who love the heat and the cold. Wish they would blow their coats at the same time and not right after each other but they and their fur are worth it. You and Levi are thriving and I'm here for it ❣️🐶
