Just tried this with my wifes dryer, except I used a blue shop towel and some everclear. Worked like a charm.

AVOID. This hairdryer stopped working after 6 months as it cannot be taken apart to be cleaned (unlike every other hairdryer I’ve experienced) and so it would cut out after a few minutes use. I have been sent out a replacement and that has also stopped working a year later. Sharks current solution? To send me out another!! Waste of money and I’m not able to get a refund even though it is a faulty design. What’s worse is that every time I have phoned up to resolve this I have been told “We haven’t had any complaints about it cutting out” and after reading these comments I feel even more lied to! Awful product + returns policy.

I am a hair stylist, I do not recommend this dryer, I bought it on Amazon and it only lasted 3-4 weeks of use I asked for another one and the same thing happened, the air stopped flowing and it became slow. I cleaned it as shown in the video and it didn't work. It is poorly designed from the factory. I was very excited to buy it and I was disappointed.

Loved my Shark hair dryer until it started cutting out. With no way to take it apart to properly clean the filter, there doesn’t seem to be a resolution to this problem. Very disappointed as I thought I was buying a superior product. I will avoid Shark products from now on.

I clean my dryer constantly I’ll be drying my hair then after a few minutes it shuts off. I turn it off for a couple minutes then it goes back on and then it shuts off. It’s irritating and I do clean. Are there any other suggestions why the shark hairdryer overheats

Yep. Tried this a million times. Works for 12 seconds and turns off. Yay for expensive junk.

My wife has one. She just had it replaced because the poor design of the filter. It stopped blowing because the screen got clogged and cannot be removed to be cleaned. Horrible design considering that. Stay away until they redesign this huge flaw.

No. This no longer stops the hairdryer from making that loud noise as if it's clogged. What's next?

I See that Shark is now releasing this model (HD100 series) with a removable air filter. Can the removeable air filter, which can be purchased on the Shark website (part #Model:319FC100) be retrofitted onto the original Hyperair I purchased a year ago?

Such a waste of my hard earned money. Runs for about 2 minutes, then shuts off. You can clean it till your blue in the face and it still won’t work for more than a couple of minutes. I’m now back to using my 10 year old Conair and wish I had never wasted my money on the Shark.

Do not recommend this hair dryer. Stops working because you can’t keep the venting clean enough. Should have a detachable piece instead. Returning tomorrow

I spent $200 on a hair dryer that works for 30 seconds.. and of course, I can't return it! What a waste of money.
