So when they say “epic poems” they don’t mean poems like we mean, they mean stories?

Homer father of Epic poetry, and action films? You never heard about the ""The Epic of Gilgamesh""

The Epic of Gilgamesh was 2000 years earlier than Plato.

"action, adventure stories" is not a good word for Homer.

Homer probably didn't even exist, nor did Shakespeare (as the great poet) only probably as a regular human that wasn't very literate nor talented.

The gospels are written in the style of Homer as well.
