Tbh, the Sashimi dish may have a good concept, but the effort going into the two dishes are compeletely different. I mean that dish isn't a dish worth 75 minutes. In other MC regions that would have been an sbolute no-go, having 75 minutes but that is it?

Everything's so different in MasterChef Australia compared to other MasterChefs, , , like the judges and the home cooks and the overall atmosphere lol

These guys get to have people make them food snd talk about it. They're the real winners.

Its about the concept of the dish and its execution. Just because you popped out a perfect steak doesn't mean its the best dish otherwise anyone can win mc with just steaks. You cant judge a sashimi dish like a steak dish and vice versa. They each have their own respective flare.

Weird that they find mashed potatoes and steak a "strange" combination. That's a staple in the US.

Steak and Mashed potatoes is odd? Steak and taters are all we eat in Texas damn near.

That's an entree. I can't see it.

So they bring someone who is trying to compete with others to be master chef against someone who is "Young Masterchef of the year". That does not sound fair at all. And aside he just literally put raw fish while she made beautiful piece of steak.

Yeah MC Australia can be nice and friendly and all but this sort of challenges are very unfair to and for the competitors

I love simplicity and delicacy as well as asymmetry and freedom in food plating. But, I’m sorry, that random spattering of sashimi on that huge, dark plate did not look refined to me at all. Looks like discarded scraps.
