I'm 75 from New Jersey. When I was in my 40-50's I went our with 4 friends for 3 day tuna trips. We caught yellow fin tuna and dolphins, the game fish. We never over fished and always had throwbacks, usually dolphins ! I loved being 20 miles offshore So peaceful!😂

And, it's being fished out (illegally). When caught it's put on ICE anf flown around the World to Specialty
Restaurants. You can only imagine who's eating this meat, and it's not the common man. That's only one of the many jobs for the Coast Guard.

Just don't kill them. They are magnificent. We treat every animal on earth to treat human needs.

As of lately because of parasites I have illuminated all sea foods I am sad about. Not to mention beef and poultry. In my country ( Puerto Rico) pork is delicious not for me.!

Only in Japan around New Year when demand is astronomical; otherwise a tenth of the stated price.
Yellow Fin is more desirable.

It’s not 1.3M But you get $10, 000 for a single bluefin tuna and it’s not rare, but it’s gonna be rare, but people are trying to help it by tag it

The $3.1 million for that tuna it’s normally the opening season for the tuna in the Japanese fish market and the first one sold it’s always auctioned for charity and some times it reaches more than that figure
And then after that first one been auctioned they sold by weight and quality
