D365 goes directly to the SCADA layer with Azure IoT through the «Sensor Intelligence» functionality out of the box. Shop Floor Execution is included as well and this is tied into this MES equivalent.
The solution has broad Manufacturing capabilities, but take a look at Annata solution for Automotive for vertical capabilities. I would not say that the quality of the code is worse than any other software company. And this is FAR greater agility too keep up with industry development than for instance Infor who say they maintain 2000 (!!!!) industry verticals across MANY ERP solutions. and if you are not a part of the “one solution fits all”- group, a cloud option is out the window.
Also D365 HR is built-in to the same solution as SCM and Finance.
