Keep in mind, this is 1979 - there is no auto-tune, no digital tools or backing tracks, it's 100% analog, just 4 incredible musicians playing one the greatest songs ever written. Pure talent, raw emotion, all the imperfection that is part of human beings playing live music. It's remarkable.

Now do the live version from Celebration Day Concert when they are about 70 years old. You'll be shocked. It was their first and last concert together 30 years after the death of their drummer.

Oh wait until you hear the quality of the performance from Live Celebration Day. All while realizing that they are in their 60's and sounding better than ever. They are ALL amazing, but Robert Plants' shit!

Remember that not only is JPJ playing the keys he is also playing the bass line using a set of pedals under the keyboards. Watch the floor carefully if you revisit this later.

Well, you know you’re now going to have to check out their final performance ever of the song at their one and only full length reunion show in 2007 at the O2 Arena, which I was privileged to be at! Many years later and many years older and Jason Bonham filling in for his dad on drums. You will love this performance and you won’t be disappointed! Released in 2012 on the celebration day DVD here is a link:

90 plus percent of Music Lovers especially back in the 60, 70, and early 80;s would never prefer the studio version if they could go to a live show. Live shows back then were tops.

This is why Led Zeppelin is a legendary band. They take a perfect studio album and make it even better live. Not a single fan walked out wishing they had not spent the money for THOSE tickets.

Gotta love JPJ. Playing keyboards with hands, and bass with feet. Genius!
