In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view along the Kufstein-Innsbruck Railway and Bavarian Maximilian Railway from Innsbruck to Salzburg via Kufstein in 4K/60 frames per second.

Embark on a stunning cab ride from Innsbruck to Salzburg, traveling along the historic Kufstein-Innsbruck railway and the scenic Bavarian Maximilian Railway, two of Austria's and Bavaria's most renowned rail routes. Our journey begins on the Kufstein-Innsbruck line or Unterinntalbahn. This double-tracked, electrified route traces the beautiful Inn River and connects the Tyrolean capital, Innsbruck, to the German border near Kufstein. Originally developed as the k.k. North Tyrolean state railway, this line is now part of the TEN-T Berlin-Palermo corridor, highlighting its importance within European rail infrastructure.

As we cross into Germany, we join the famed Bavarian Maximilian Railway, an east-west line named after Bavarian King Maximilian II. Completed in the mid-19th century, it links Munich, Rosenheim, and Salzburg, featuring breathtaking Alpine vistas and serving as one of the oldest, most iconic rail paths in the region. From Neu-Ulm in Württemberg to Salzburg, this route showcases a mix of historical engineering and contemporary rail operations, as part of the Royal Bavarian State Railways.

On this immersive cab ride, experience the serene Tyrolean landscapes, impressive Alpine peaks, and historic stations that have defined these railways for over a century.

3:18 this is a former siding. I remember seeing a loco climbing up the steep bit with what looked like empty open coaches. You can still see some relicts. But it was gone before "Messe" was built.

Un atractivo y singular trayecto donde el e tren sale de un país y después de viajar por otro vuelve al anterior. Muy buena calidad de vídeo e información desplegada.

We are flattered by this beautiful journey! I thought it was the Giselabahn again but instead it follows the Unterinntalbahn and then the Maximilian-Bayerisch Bahn to finally arrive in Salzburg. I don't know if it's just the Rosenheim - Salzburg section which is an old line, but the stations are old and the grass is growing in the middle of the tracks. I see that in Freilassing they have raised the sidewalks. In Austria the line runs between the Karwendel Mountains and the Inn River and you can see the Kufstein Fortress and as if by magic the landscape changes as soon as you cross the border as well as the weather! It starts to rain! Beautiful line with the Taurus and the Railjet. I noticed that there are the first and second generation Railjets: what's the difference between the two? The entrance to Salzburg Hbf is spectacular: the station with the new shelters now seems to fly in the sky! Excellent as always!

Another very interesting journey from Austria via Germany to Austria in the usual excellent quality. The DB Maximiliansbahn is shorter than the Giselabahn, which is why most trains between Wörgl and Salzburg (and vice versa) run there and not on the ÖBB Gisela mountain railway with many bends and gradients. Unfortunately, the Maximiliansbahn is in relatively poor condition, which is why it often has to be closed for repair work (during this time all trains run on the Giselabahn (which bears the name of a daughter of Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary and his wife Elisabeth ["Sisi"], Archduchess Gisela Louise Marie of Austria). Unfortunately, this means that our train, the ÖBB RailJet Express (RJX) 869 from Bregenz via Innsbruck, Wörgl, Salzburg, Linz and Vienna to Vienna Schwechat Airport, which was on time to the minute as far as Wörgl and Kufstein, is delayed by almost 10 minutes on the German section of the route.

Thanks for the video. How weird is it that an austrian train, in order to reach an austrian city to another has to cross into germany without even stopping in germany? 😄
