Today we take a tour of the national atomic testing museum in Las Vegas. It is located about 1 mile from the east of the Las Vegas Strip on 755 E. Flamingo Rd.

My dad, now passed was one of the original soldiers in the trench with no protection from the radio activity. He said they were ordered to shut their eyes and even then it was a bright and white as anything he'd ever seen. They sent out the scientist gygercounters, and then sent the soldiers out to write down the damage to the buildings etc. He was sick with all ailments most of his life. This museum is amazing and well worth the entrance fee. It will take about (at least 2 hrs) to view it all and see the film. I still have my dad's army orders that made him deploy to Las Vegas. I live in Henderson, a suburb of Vegas. Who knew that would happen that I would be here to see a museum of an event he always spoke of
