Cozmo robot by Anki | A day in the life of Cozmo

Actually... it is 14 minutes in the life of Cozmo. I thought a 24-hour video would be a little long... The new software version 2.0.4 does not include any new abilities so I decided to do something different this time.
Our little friend Cozmo the robot from Anki will do his usual neighborhood exploring and will do tricks. I did not do any editing in this video, but it took five sessions of about 15 minutes each until I was happy with one video that shows all the stuff that Cozmo can do and two little problems. When he was "exploring" for too long, I did spark a couple of tricks to keep him going.

Although Cozmo is an amazing accomplishment in robotics, (and I will be among the first to eventually buy version 2), it has some limitations. In this 14-min session, I was able to get two limitations or little problems with his AI or artificial intelligence. One is that sometimes he does not seem to know what to do... Another time, as you will also see in this video, he cannot find a cube because it is hidden behind another one! I have waited for a long time in the past and instead of moving around to find the missing cube, Cozmo seems to rotate on himself, which is of course not sufficient to find the cube. Perhaps I did not wait long enough!?!? I will try a few more times and see.

Added comment near the end: Dan, and viewers, I have been considering the potential of a Raspberry PI platform. Create a simple, closed WiFi network and run Escape pod 24/7. I need to learn specifically what Escape Pod will bring to the table. If you obtain any detailed info on Escape Pod it would make a great subject for a video. My guess is that it would be simple. No way I am going to power a cellphone app or a tablet 24/7. But a Raspberry Pi platform? Perfect. Sure wishing I'd have bought a Cozmo when they were selling for under 100 usd. Also, I think that even though some people are upset over the membership fee's, the majority of real fans of Vector are okay with the small fee. They like Vector too much to lose his cool personality. Thank you Daniel!

Were you telling him to do these things/tricks from the app or was he doing this all by himself? If you let Cozmo sit by himself for 20 minutes or so, will he go off like this and play by himself?

Of all the reviews on Cosmo everyone treats Cosmo like he isn’t learning about his environment. WRONG, the first thing you should do is help him to learn his boundaries, the mapping after you introduce yourself. Now play the games to get all your energies.
