The announcement for Canadian international students to work more than 20hours during term time is only valid till 31st of December this Year 2022, probably to help with the demand of labour during this festive season, by January they might revoke that announcement, so nobody should get excited about it for now....

Canada is better however they have a limited number of students per country and reject at least 80% of Nigerian applicants plus long processing time. UK is easy to enter but getting PR and tier 2 work sponsorship after is hard. But in Canada there are provinces that have pr programs for students who schooled there. I can’t imagine having to bear all the uncertainty in uk after spending all those money. And also jobs in canada pay more than in the uk

UK will give you a visa quickly and easily cos they know they do not have a defined pathway for progression after study,
Canada on the other hand has a defined pathway from being a student to PR to citizens (average of 5yrs from arrival in Canada). So they take their time to review your study permit application to be sure they are bringing in the right people.

So with any Canada visa process patience is a virtue you require, but you know once you get in you are settled, with UK its what comes fast goes fast. The reality with UK dawns on you once you are rounding up your study.

Been on both sides of the coin and i will always advice anyone to be patient and come to Canada or use UK as a stepping stone to leave ur home country and have a plan setup to move after study.
