Love the dress with or without the corset. The corset definitely adds a lovely whimsy to the esthetic. I would absolutely wear it both ways.

The overall look was cute but 2 things of note: 1) that struggle with the corset prolly indicates you might need something that fits u better, or adjust the lacing in the back bc u want wearing corsets to be a comfortable experience and u want ur garment to last longer 2) opt for more earthy and more authentic looking flower crown. Or even weave lil flowers like baby's breath into your braids. Also, I think cottagecore would be a misnomer for this look bc it's definitely more high fantasy or renaissance fair

For anyone interested in corsetry who doesn't know, the hourglass shape of the lacing in the back means that a different shape corset would probably fit this lovely person better 😊 The lacing should be straight, V, or A shaped, as curved lacing panels like )( or () indicate that the waist is probably either too big or too small, respectively, for the person wearing it. But hey, if you like it, or just haven't found a better fit yet, it's no one's business how quickly you go through corsets!
