They do stupid things like this but leave genuine problems unfixed.

You can search for a video title word for word, that you know exists, & it just gives you completely unrelated results.

& it would be nice to have a “block channel” feature for all the brain rot content too.

They also added this fun thing where if you watch shorts on an android device, the entire UI disappears. When you exit and reopen the app, it automatically opens shorts and the UI is still gone, so you have to exit and reopen it TWICE to fix it

Also also. Youtube has introduced (or is testing out) a new in-app miniplayer whichakes it 10 times more difficult than before to close the video you're watching, plus it's no longer always visible how far along in a playlist you are unless if you pause. It's literally just.. worse than what it used to be for no apparent benefit

Did y'all notice that the mobile apps buttons in the shorts are transparent and turn white when highlighted? Now I can't tell if I've liked something or not in a ton of videos

So glad that they’re making stupid, pointless, barely noticeable tweaks instead of massive glitches and bugs with their app as well as awful ui and design and horrible user friendly features

The YouTube app has also gotten really good at loading shorts at 144p after the update automatically even though I have changed zero settings, location or signal

I also strangely received a special update (somehow gone now for some reason), the ENTIRE LOOK WHEN WATCHING A VID WAS CHANGED SO MUCH THAT SWIPING UP AND DOWN CHANGES VIDEO INSTEAD OF EXITING THE BIG PICTURE MODE, AND ADDED THE TITLE TO THE BIG PICTURE MODE SO THEY PUT THE BUTTON TO EXIT THE BIG PICTURE MODE TO THE TOP LEFT

I hate how now instead of being a small bar at the bottom when searching with a video playing, it a clunky box that i have to move out of the way, it was perfect being able to drop it down, and being able to control the video while scrolling through my recommendations, now its just in the way

Ever since I watched the first video you posted about the “pinkifying” of YouTube, I’ve noticed it more and more. And I must admit, YouTube people definitely absolutely love that modern phones automatically update and so the users don’t even get a chance to see the description of what’s happening unless they go out of their way to turn that stuff off

I'm colorblind and i hate the pink color on the loading bar. It looks too similar to the gray part to me.
