Thank you. You solved my problem in the first minute by learning that some LED transformers have a MINIMUM load limit as well as a maximum wattage load. Plugging the LED lamp into the old halogen 20-60watt transformer caused the LED to flash brightly for a split second and then shine VERY dimly and flicker a bit. The electrical shop I bought the LED from didn't know this.

Thank you. That solved my problem. Never knew there transformers that had to have a minimum output to work. Obviously more than just an ordinary transformer

Thanks matey. Great video. Zero waffle. Just bought 7 new LED lamps and they don't seem to be working. Looks like I'll need new transformers too.!

Can I replace 6 halogen drivers with 1 big LED driver?

Does it need to be constant current or constant voltage, and do I put them in series or parallel?

Great! I’ll check my transformers before getting LED bulbs.

I just pulled 6 of my 35w halogen bulbs out of the ceiling to find the driver to replace with a led one, but it seems all of the bulbs have a little driver connected to each one and do not have one big one to run all of them. These were b&q fitted in year 2006. Is this normal, and do I now have to get small led drivers for each. I'm so confused.

I'm looking to switch all GU 5.3 halogen lights to LED. The dimmer is of a older model and also the transformer. While the dimmer manufacturer don't recommend this dimmer for LED it seems to work fine without flickering except the dimming goes down by only maybe 5-10%. Do I need to switch both the dimmer and the transformer, or could I just go with a new transformer and keep the old dimmer?

Thank you for your video. I can't get my head around one thing. The old transformer coverts mains down to 11.5V AC. How can a led run on AC? I'm trying to understand if i need to not only replace my old transformer with a lower wattage one, but also one thats rectifies to DC. I have GU10 LEDs with built in electronics but it looks like GU4 LEDs come with onboard electronica. Thank you

I have a Led 50w to 6w 550 Lumens, MR16L, I want it to use on a base 50W GX5.3, but when I try to connect it, nothing works...With transformer and without transformer the LED won't turn on any advice? When I use the old halogen 12v 50W works fine. I don´t know what is the problem. Thanks

I have around 20 halogen bulbs in my apartment. How much would it cost to change all of them into LED?

Hi, Could you put 4 x 6W LED's onto 1 20-70W transformer? Also is a driver the same as a transformer, or do they do different things?

Would a 35w transformer be suitable for 2 - 5w led downlights. Any advice thanks.
