The letter Y also makes the 'yuh' sound at the beginning of another syllable: "canyon"

Normally, Y is a consonant that makes the "yuh" sound: at the beginning of other words; like e.g.: yell, yogurt, yawn, and yard

But when it's at the end of a word, there were times when it becomes a vowel, making the E or I sound usually.

For example: Y says E
party - bunny - candy - pony - sunny - cloudy - family - thirsty, etc.

The letter Y is also considered a vowel when it represents the short u /uh/ vowel sound like in Up or bUs in words like sYRinge or bicYcle. And there's another very rare and unusual vowel sound for the letter Y in American English. Since the letter R is Always pronounced in American English the combination of letters IR or UR are considered vowel sounds in words like bIRd and fUR. So in words like mYRRh martYR, the combination YR is also vowel sound because YR sounds just like IR and UR like in bIRD and fUR.

Could you explain more about the "middle/end of a syllable"?
I wonder how it was classified as middle or end.
