Though, it doesn't have has as many hits as you'd expect, but I'd argue that this is one of the best Python Lectures out there. I am watching this after watching other free python for beginners courses with million views and of course, I ended up going back to Saylor's Python course to sit my ass down and LEARN. This is me watching this as part of my Unit 1 study. Fingers crossed as this 43 year old man tries to learn Python.

i'm kinda lost with the basics of strings. What is the meaning of %d and %f on strings?

There is an error in "The Basics of Strings" (under section1.6) of the course work. The last example will result in a syntax error. Cause: 1st parentheses not closed.
